About Our Organization
Preserving and Promoting the Legacy of Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ)
Promoting authentic Islamic scholarship through academic research and publications.
Organizing seminars, workshops, and educational initiatives for the Muslim community.
Connecting scholars and researchers internationally to preserve Islamic intellectual heritage.
Idara-e-Tahqeeqat-e-Imam Ahmed Raza is dedicated to preserving, promoting, and propagating the scholarly legacy and spiritual message of Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi (رحمة الله علیہ). The Idara endeavors to evaluate and advance research on his multifaceted contributions, introduce his Deeni Tasanif to scholars and the general public, and make his works accessible globally through translation and publication in major international languages.
To strengthen awareness, the Idara organizes annual national conferences, seminars, and symposia on Imam Ahmed Raza’s life and thought, and publishes the annual journal Mujalla Moarrif-e-Raza to encourage scholarly engagement and academic dialogue.
With a vision to institutionalize research and learning, the Idara aims to establish Raza Council, Raza Library, Raza Press, and Raza Research Academy, along with educational centers, madaris, and Darul-Ulooms in Pakistan and abroad. The institution seeks to inspire new generations of scholars to explore the intellectual and spiritual dimensions of Imam Ahmed Raza’s works through academic research and Ph.D. studies.
The Idara also strives to highlight his efforts for the true freedom and defense of Islam, his promotion of love for the Holy Prophet ﷺ, and his harmony of religious knowledge with modern sciences. Through media outreach, publications, and public events, the Idara aspires to restore the rightful recognition of Imam Ahmed Raza as one of the greatest scholars and reformers of his time.
Strategic Pillars and Achievements
For over four decades, I.T.I.A.R. has functioned as the premier international research and development hub for the intellectual thought of Imam Ahmad Raza. Our strategic focus spans three key areas:
1.Global Academic Integration
The Institute actively promotes and supports scholarly research, contributing significantly to the completion of approximately 50 PhD and 20 M.Phil. dissertations from major universities across Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Egypt’s Al-Azhar, and the United States.
Strategic advocacy has resulted in the integration of Imam Ahmad Raza’s specialized texts—covering Islamic Jurisprudence, Economics, Political Science, and Modern Sciences—into the curricula of key international academic institutions, including Karachi University and Ruhelkhand University.
Since 1993, we have awarded the Imam Ahmad Raza Research Gold and Silver Medals to recognize and incentivize superior doctoral and master’s level research, establishing a benchmark for scholarly quality.
2. Intellectual Property (IP) Management & Publishing
We ensure the preservation of the legacy through the successful identification, acquisition, and publication of 35 of Imam Ahmad Raza’s rare, unpublished original works, commentaries, and manuscripts (in Urdu, Persian, and Arabic).
The Institute has produced over 164 scholarly books and monographs (excluding research journals). We maintain a robust journal portfolio, including the annual Ma’arif-e-Raza Research Journal (since 1981) and a monthly edition (since 2000).
Over 75% of our publications are disseminated free of charge to university and public libraries globally, prioritizing mission fulfillment over commercial viability.
3. Strategic Outreach & Advocacy
We consistently host the annual “Imam Ahmad Raza Conference” since 1981, providing a platform for international scholars and policymakers.
We coordinate with leading electronic and print media (e.g., PTV, Daily Jang) to produce documentaries and annual special editions, ensuring the teachings reach a vast public audience.
• Institutional Expansion
We strive to institutionalize research and learning by pursuing the establishment of the Imam Ahmad Raza International University and the acquisition of a comprehensive permanent institutional campus.
