Mufti Taqaddus Ali Khan

Founder Member

Mufti Taqaddus Ali Khan (رحمہ اللہ علیہ) was born in Rajab 1325 AH (approx. August 1907 CE) at Mohalla Sodagaran, Bareilly Sharif, into a distinguished scholarly family with deep scholarly and spiritual roots. He studied classical Islamic sciences (Dars-e-Nizami) and graduated from the eminent institution Darul Uloom Manzar Islam in Bareilly. Following his graduation, he commenced teaching at Manzar Islam and soon became deputy-motamim (vice-administrator), taking on educational leadership while still relatively young. In his tenure at Bareilly, he guided hundreds of students into the Dars-e-Nizami curriculum and supervised both teaching and administration for around 25 years until he and his family migrated to Pakistan in Muharram 1371 AH (Oct 1951) and later moved to Pirr Jo Goth in Sindh. At Pirr Jo Goth, he helped establish Jamia Rashdiya (founded 8 Jumada al-Awwal 1371 AH / 5 May 1952) and remained its Sheikh-al-Jamia (senior teacher) for about 37 years. During his time there, he oversaw thousands of students and played a prominent role in both scholarly and spiritual leadership. His relationship with the Silsilah Qadrīyah Rashīdīyah at Pirr Jo Goth was also especially notable—he functioned as a key teacher and was known among the community as “Ustaz Saīn”. His life of rigorous scholarship, teaching, administration, and spiritual mentorship left a lasting legacy. He passed away on 3 Rajab 1408 AH (≈ 21 February 1988 CE).
